Welcome to Mwenda Ntarangwi's web page

Mwenda Ntarangwi, PhD., Associate Professor of Anthropology, email: mwendantarangwi [at] gmail [dot] com

I am a cultural anthropologist interested in how social justice issues are expressed and experienced through popular culture. I also have an ongoing passion for inter- and cross-cultural learning and teaching and a growing interest in the practice of anthropology and how to use anthropology to understand not only others but ourselves.  For a number of years now I have also used my training to serve in administrative roles. Working with human beings is always intriguing given their complexity. I am motivated by my desire to use my administrative skills to solve problems and make life better for others.

Anthropology demands the open-mindedness with which one must look and listen, record in astonishment and wonder that which one would not have been able to guess --Margaret Mead
